Congratulations to Gwen!

Congratulations to our very own Gwen Pradere, Celebrating Women Helping Women honoree. Nominated by Sierra Bookkeeping, Gwen, Founder and President of Friends for All, spends her year collecting gifts, donations and volunteers to visit home-bound seniors every Christmas season. She founded Friends to All nearly 23 years ago with the very first Senior Santa Visit and has continued to support and grow our annual visits every year.

Covid-19: Grocery Stores Help Out

With Covid-19 affecting nearly all aspects of life, times are a little scary right now, especially for our senior population.  However, we are a strong community and many grocery stores are doing their part to help our high-risk populations feel safer when shopping. Here’s what some of our local stores are offering…

+ COSTCO – Senior Hours
Tuesdays & Thursdays from 8am – 9am

+ SMITH’S – Senior Hours
Mondays, Wednesdays, & Fridays from 7AM-8AM

+ SAVE MART – Senior Hours
Tuesdays & Thursdays from 6am – 9am

+ RALEY’S – Senior Essential Bags
Two discounted grocery bags available to purchase for seniors, one that’s $20 with a random selection of pantry goods and produce, and one that’s $35 with ready-to-eat meals.  For more information visit their website here

These hours apply to people 60 and older and most stores are also allowing other high-risk people to shop during these hours as well, such as women who are pregnant.

If you know of any other stores/businesses in our local community offering help to seniors please let us know in the comments. Also feel free to share this so we can get the word out!
